Holly Hill Real Estate

Holly Hill is situated in East Central Florida on the Halifax River between Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach with a population of just over 12,000. Holly Hill is less than an hour away from Orlando and its many attractions.

Holly Hill was given its name by William Flemming in 1877 when he built a home on the 4000 acres he owned along the Halifax River. Located south of Ormond Beach and just north of a recent settlement called Daytona, Flemming and his fellow settlers agreed on the name and it stuck. A very important part of the riverside development, Holly Hill contains a blend of both commercial and quiet residential areas. Holly Hill is said to be the locale of Bill McCoy's rum-running business. The pride he had in his product led him to putting his name on every case, and pretty soon the whole country was looking for the "Real McCoy."

Holly Hill is located in Volusia County on the west bank of the Halifax River. It is bounded on the north by Ormond Beach, on the south by Daytona Beach, and on the east by the Halifax River. The city's area of four square miles occupies a ridge of hammock land rising from four feet above sea level at the Halifax River bank rising to about ten feet above sea level at the top. The area has been landscaped by Mother Nature with holly bushes, magnolias, palms and majestic oak trees.

Holly Hill’s main advantages make it a very desirable location, from an industrial as well as a residential point of view. Well paved and upgraded streets, a fully-automated water treatment plant in a new expandable public works complex, highly motivated police, fire protection forces, and a record of growth and progress with careful planning and strict zoning all adds up to success. And all the glorious weather, well that's just icing on the cake!

Life in this little community is as pleasant, peaceful and rewarding as you'd anticipate in a town nicknamed "City With a Heart." Plenty of social clubs, civic organizations and creative recreational programs add to Holly Hill's high quality of life. A modern library and over a dozen charming public parks keep active people busy rain or shine. Churches on behalf of many different denominations are ready to offer visitors and new members a warm reception; we're not called the "City With a Heart" for nothing!
